The word “Organizing” is synonymous with Muthu Subramanian of 1997 -Mechanical & Production Engineering.

Muthu Subramanian did his schooling up to 10’th in Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan and subsequently in Don Bosco. After his Annamalai Engineering stint, In 1998 he left for the US to do his MS from the Wichita State University in Industrial Engineering. Between 2000 – 2003 ,he worked in the US in the field of Demand Planning.When his father Prof Dr Subramanian a cancer specialist wanted to setup a hospital, he did not blink and eye lid and decided to return back to India. After a 5 year period in the US where everything is organized and professional, coming to India and working in this environment for the first time was baptism by fire. But over the years he has adapted to the environment like fish to water and has established himself today as a seasoned entrepreneur with a zeal to make a difference.

As the senior-most practicing medical oncologist in the country, Prof.Subramanian has had a long and satisfying journey in not only providing but also creating world class healthcare delivery systems in the country over the last six decades. Prof Dr Subramanian, Founder, Chairman, the renowned Medical Oncologist of International acclaim, brings close to five decades of cancer fighting experience to the institution. He is currently the senior most practicing medical Oncologist in India. Half a million consultants, spread over two decades is no mean achievement by one single individual. His trademark patience and compassion combined with academic brilliance makes him the most popular oncologist of our times. He has been awarded Lifetime achievement by the Tamil Nadu MGR University.

Muthu’s elder brother Prof Dr.Sundar is a Senior Joint Replacement and Tumour Surgeon. He became a Professor in Sri Ramachandra in the department of Orthopedics. With his administrative skills he was the Registrar of the department for 8 years – the longest serving Registrar of any department in SRMC. Since 2013 he has joined on the VS Board as a full time director and has been instrumental in taking VS to new heights along with his father and brother. His dynamism and energy levels make him a much loved leader.

After completing his engineering from Annamalai University, Muthu went on to complete his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Wichita State University, USA. On graduation with honors, he joined as a Senior Solutions Architect with Demantra Inc (later part of Oracle Inc) In this role of a business analyst he had the opportunity of being part of various diverse industries like FMCG, Healthcare, Media, Fashion to name a few. Working with some of the biggest brands in the world like Johnson & Johnson, Fox Studios, Baxter, Unilever and Wendys gave him the much needed exposure to the intricacies of the different businesses which would come in very handy while making vital decisions in his leadership role at VS subsequently.

Muthu has a passion for entrepreneurship and works with youngsters in several entrepreneurship forums. He believes it is mutually beneficial. While he is able to mentor the youngsters, it also helps him stay connected with Gen Next. His people centricity and ability to lead from behind are key attributes to his success.

The father-son trio have grand plans for the future – they plan to expand across various parts of Tamil Nadu in taking their brand of compassionate care to the masses. AUETAA wishes them the very best.
