Friendship founded on business is better than a business founded on friendship said John D. Rockefeller. This was proved wrong by Mr Vairamuthu and his partner in business Mr Suresh since their business and relationship over three decades follows the paradigm “Every great businessis built on friendship.” Mr S. Vairamuthu and N.V. Suresh are a living testimony to that. Knowing each other over 30 years, right from when they were first employed in Ashok Leyland, to doing MBA together and now running a business since 1997 in the name of Sarang auto parts (P) Ltd in Ambattur is a phenomenal success !! A friendship that can end never really began !! Suresh’s daughter and Vairamuthu’s son have now joined the business after their Master’s degree.
Relationships are based on four principles: Respect, Understanding, Acceptance and Appreciation. No one is perfect, that is why understanding is so important. True love is born from understanding. When you understand things as they are it shows that you are a mature person. Maurity is the ability to respond to the environment being aware of the correct time and location to behave and knowing when to act according to the circumstances and equanimity means calmness and composure, especially in a difficult situation. Vairamuthu maintains relationships following the four principles and is emotionally mature. Emotional maturity is not about avoiding emotions but it is about avoiding emotional drama. Emotions – yes, Emotional drama – no !!
Vairamuthu did his schooling from Dharapuram, Vellore, RKM, Chennai since his father’s government job was transferable, went on to do his PUC from A.M. Jain college and Joined Annamalai University in 1978 and graduated in 1983. Soon after his graduation he joined Enfield as a Management Trainee and worked until 1988. Between 1988 and 1992 he worked in Ashok Leyland in the maintenance department where he established friendship with Suresh that would last for many decades. Together they did part time MBA. Between 1993 -97 they worked in L & T Mc. Neil as a plant engineer in the tyre curing process and plastic injection moulding machines.
In 1997 both of them quit their jobs and started a company “Sarang auto parts (P) LtdThey are acknowledged specialists in manufacturing Transmission shafts and they also engineer Induction Hardening Processes for top OEM’s in India. Sarang Autoparts manufactures a wide range of high performance and safety-critical components for the tractor industry, farm equipment manufacturers, shredding machine manufacturers and gearbox manufacturers. They are an organization manned by qualified and highly skilled people with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities, heat treatment and international levels of quality control.
They are supplying to OEM’s such as TAFE, SAME-DUETZ , VST TILLERS TRACTORS LTD , SHIBURA (Previously TOSHIBA ). Sarang Autoparts P Ltd is recognized by awards from all their OEM and CII for Kaizen , Delivery and Quality .
